NMPI creates a custom plating solution using DSND that may also be combined with base metals such as nickel, zinc, copper, chromium or tin or with noble metals for cosmetic applications including gold, platinum or silver to create an enhanced surface.

Non-cosmetic, mechanical coatings using nano-molecular diamonds with a coating metal, custom developed and optimized for your product provide these benefits:

Past performance:

  • Nanodiamond chromium plating using pipe drawn die holders for a manufacturer of specialized stainless steel pipes for the nuclear and chemical industries. The life of the pipe-drawing dye holders was extended to 4X to 5X that of those using conventional chromium plating.
  • Steel profiling dies used as part of a process for producing large diameter cables were selectively plated with a nanodiamond chromium plating 15 Microns thick. The operational life of each nanodiamond plated die is approximately 200% better than that of the original design.
